Our battery-operated roller blinds (Silent Gliss 4955) are great for those who want the ease of motorised blinds, but without the hassle of installing mains powered blinds – perfect for hard-to-reach windows, or as a retrofit solution.
The classic shading system features a refined design with clean lines and high-quality materials to suit a wide range of interiors. With three bottom bar choices and a vast range of fabrics to choose from, you can get perfect blinds, whatever your style.
The 4955 features a cassette header in white with a weighted bottom bar available in white, silver or fabric-covered, in round, square or oval profiles.
Powered by 8 standard AA lithium batteries (supplied), with a battery life of up to 3 years depending on usage and blind size. Batteries fit into a removable battery pack behind the header cassette cover for easy replacement.
Fabrics are available in widths from 60cm to 190cm and drops from 60cm to 300cm. Installation is quick and easy with ceiling-fix or wall-fix brackets.

The 4955 requires 8 x AA lithium batteries (supplied with the blind). When replacing batteries, you must use lithium AA batteries only — do not use standard alkaline batteries as they will not provide sufficient power for the motor.

We currently offer fabrics from their two most popular groups, Colorama 1 and Colorama 2, which have both vivid and more toned-down colours to suit any application.

How long do the batteries last?
The 4955 uses 8 x AA lithium batteries which are supplied with the blind. Battery life is up to 3 years depending on usage frequency and blind size. Replacement is easy — the battery pack slides out from behind the header cassette cover. Important: when replacing batteries, you must use lithium AA batteries only — do not use standard alkaline batteries as they will not provide sufficient power for the motor.
Can I install this blind myself?
Yes! The 4955 is designed for easy DIY installation. The blind comes fully assembled — you just need to fit the brackets to your wall or ceiling. No electrician is required as it's entirely battery powered.
What is the difference between ceiling-fix and wall-fix brackets?
Ceiling-fix brackets mount inside the window recess on the ceiling, with the blind hanging down inside the recess. Wall-fix brackets mount on the wall above the window, with the blind covering the window opening from the outside. Your choice of bracket affects which fitting options are available.
What is the difference between standard and reverse roll?
Standard roll means the fabric rolls off the front of the tube, so the blind hangs close to the window. Reverse roll means the fabric rolls off the back of the tube, so the blind hangs slightly further away from the window. Your choice affects the gap between the blind and the window.
What is the fascia?
The fascia is the front cover of the cassette header that conceals the roller mechanism. Depending on your fitting option, the fascia can face towards the room, towards the window, or upward/downward.
What are the bottom bar options?
The bottom bar is the weighted bar at the bottom of the blind that keeps it hanging straight. You can choose from three colours (white, silver, or fabric-covered) and three shapes (round, square, or oval). The top cassette is only available in white.
What is the difference between Colorama 1 and Colorama 2 fabrics?
Both ranges offer the same colours but differ in weight and transparency. Colorama 1 is slightly thinner and more transparent, while Colorama 2 is thicker and lets less light through. Neither is blackout on its own.
Can I control multiple blinds with one remote?
Yes! The optional multi-channel remote (SG 10948) can control up to 6 groups of blinds independently. Single-channel remotes will operate all blinds set to the same channel simultaneously. The included wall button is single-channel.

When signing for the delivery, if the packaging looks damaged, please sign for it as damaged or send it back.
