The fabrics we offer are Silent Gliss' own Colorama range, specifically designed and refined for roller blind applications.

We currently offer fabrics from their two most popular groups, Colorama 1 and Colorama 2, which have both vivid and more toned-down colours to suit any application.

  • Colorama 1 is slightly thinner and therefore more transparent than Colorama 2.
  • Colorama 2 is thicker and lets less light through.

Here you can see the same colours in both Colorama 1 and Colorama 2, demonstrating the difference in transparency:

Please note: Only certain fabrics are available between 190 and 240cm wide — the fabric groups shown in the selector will reflect this based on your width measurement.

The 4960 can be fixed to a ceiling or to a wall. When you order, we'll send the correct brackets for your chosen fixing method.

The blind simply clips onto the brackets — a quick and secure attachment.

The motor must be wired directly into the mains by a qualified electrician. The motor comes with a 2 metre cable.

Popular for new builds

A recessed headbox is a popular option for new-build properties or renovations, where the blind mechanism is concealed within the ceiling. Ask your builder or architect about this option.

You will receive a fully assembled roller blind, ready to fit. The blind is supplied complete with:

  • Roller blind made to your exact measurements
  • Bottom bar in your chosen colour
  • Series 40 motor with 2m cable
  • Ceiling-fix or wall-fix brackets (depending on your selection)
  • Any controls or remotes you selected
  • Full fitting instructions

Extra items that you need:

  • Rawl plugs or other fixings suitable for your wall or ceiling
  • Screws
  • A qualified electrician to wire the motor into the mains

N.B. Any of the controls can be purchased separately in the future and added to your system. It is all compatible and you are not limiting yourself by the choices you make now.

The 4960 roller blind is priced based on size (width × drop) and fabric group. The Series 40 motor is included in the price.

Fabric Groups

  • Colorama 1 – Lighter weight, more transparent fabrics (max width 190cm)
  • Colorama 2 – Heavier weight, less transparent fabrics (max width 240cm)

Colorama 2 fabrics are slightly more expensive due to the heavier material.

Controls

No controller is included as standard — choose from wall switches, handheld remotes, or the Move Server for home automation.

The 4960 features a built-in radio receiver, allowing wireless control from day one.

Choose from:

  • SG 11936 – 1-channel wireless wall switch
  • SG 11937 – 6-channel wireless wall switch (control up to 6 groups)
  • SG 11931 – 1-channel handheld remote
  • SG 11932 – 6-channel handheld remote
  • SG 11900 – Move 4.0 Server (home automation via smartphone app)

The 4960 can also be hard-wired to a standard wall switch, making it a popular choice for new-build properties where the electrician can wire the blind into the lighting circuit.

Do I need an electrician to install this blind?

Yes. The 4960 is mains-powered and must be wired directly into your mains power supply by a qualified electrician. The motor comes with a 2 metre cable. The brackets and blind installation are straightforward, but the electrical connection must be done by a professional.

What is the difference between the 4960 and the 4955?

The 4960 is mains-powered (wired by an electrician) while the 4955 is battery-powered (easy DIY). The 4960 supports home automation via the Move Server, has a wider range of controls, and never needs batteries. The 4955 is better for retrofit situations where you don't want to run cables.

Can I control the 4960 from my phone?

Yes! By adding the optional Move 4.0 Server (SG 11900), you can control your 4960 blind from the Silent Gliss app on your smartphone or tablet. The Move 4.0 Server connects to your home Wi-Fi and communicates wirelessly with the blind.

Which side should I choose for the motor?

Choose the motor side that is closest to your power supply or the most convenient route for the electrician to run the cable. The motor side cannot be changed after manufacture, so please consult your electrician if you are unsure.

What is the difference between ceiling-fix and wall-fix brackets?

Ceiling-fix brackets mount inside the window recess on the ceiling, with the blind hanging down inside the recess. Wall-fix brackets mount on the wall above the window, with the blind covering the window opening from the outside.

What is the difference between standard and reverse roll?

Standard roll means the fabric rolls off the front of the tube, so the blind hangs close to the window. Reverse roll means the fabric rolls off the back of the tube, positioning the fabric closer to the glass for better light blocking.

What is the difference between Colorama 1 and Colorama 2 fabrics?

Both ranges offer the same colours but differ in weight and transparency. Colorama 1 is slightly thinner and more transparent (max width 190cm), while Colorama 2 is thicker and lets less light through (max width 240cm).

Can I control multiple blinds with one remote?

Yes! The 6-channel remotes and wall switches (SG 11937, SG 11932) can control up to 6 groups of blinds independently. Single-channel controllers operate all blinds on the same channel.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery to UK Mainland addresses is completely free. The price you see on this website is the price you pay.
